13X Molecular Sieve is a synthetic crystalline aluminosilicate with a regular micropore structure. It’s the sodium form of the type X crystal and has a much larger pore opening than the type A crystal. It will adsorb molecules with a kinetic diameter of less than 9 Angstrom (0.9 nm) and exclude those larger. It also has the highest theoretical capacity of the common adsorbents and very good mass transfer rates. It can remove impurities too large to fit into a type A crystal and is commonly used to separate nitrogen from oxygen.

Product Applications:

Petrotat 13X Molecular Sieve is a highly selective adsorbent designed for the elimination of trace contaminants from air and other gases. It can also be used for the desulphurization (sweetening) of natural gas and other fluids, especially for the removal of mercaptans, and for drying of gases and liquids.

Another field of application for our 13X is the non-cryogenic oxygen enrichment from air using pressure (vacuum) swing adsorption (PSA/VPSA) technique. It can be used as regenerative thermo-chemical energy storage for the generation of cold or heat, possibly using environmentally sound primary energy sources (sun energy, exhaust heat etc.).

13X Molecular Sieve, which is also called zeolite 13X, is one of the types of aluminosilicate crystals with an average thickness of 10 angstroms (0.9 nm) and molecules with a diameter of less than 10 angstroms are absorbed by this molecular zeolite.

13X Molecular Sieve are usually used to remove carbon dioxide and moisture from the air and remove mercaptans and hydrogen sulfide from hydrocarbons such as LPG, butane, propane, etc.

Since this molecular reactor has a high performance in separating oxygen and nitrogen and has a very good oxygen production rate, it is mainly used in industrial and hospital (medical) oxygen production units.

In oxygen production units using the PSA method, the speed of nitrogen separation and oxygen production is higher, and the lifetime of the molecule is longer.
