3A Molecular Sieve

Highest quality and reliability

Petrotat 3A Molecular Sieve is a synthetic crystalline aluminosilicate with a regular micropore structure. it is the potassium form of the type A crystal structure. Type 3A has an effective pore opening of about 3 angstroms (0.3nm). This is large enough to allow in moisture, but excludes molecules such as unsaturated hydrocarbons which can potentially form polymers; and this maximizes lifetime when dehydrating such molecules.

Product Applications:

Petrotat 3A Molecular Sieve family included 3A MS03 commonly used for drying of gases like CNG and 3A-EDG for polar solvents (methanol, ethanol) and PURSORB® 3A-EPG, 3A-EPG II and 3A-PPG for polymerizable substances, such as unsaturated hydrocarbons (ethylene, propylene, acetylene and butadiene).

More information about 3A Molecular Sieve

This 3A Molecular Sieve  is a sodium-potassium aluminosilicate with a pore size of 3A [0.3 nm], which is also called 3A zeolite. It is one of the types of aluminosilicate crystals.

The chemical formula of Molecule Arsio 3A is equal to K12[(AlO2)12(SiO2)].XH2O and the ratio of silicon to aluminum is SiO2/Al2O3=2

3A Molecular Sieve is usually used to dry or remove moisture from gases and solvents.

3A Molecular Sieve Regeneration Method

The 3A Molecular Sieve can be regenerated by the TSA thermal method at 200-230 degrees Celsius or by reducing the pressure in the PSA process.

If the Molecular Sieve reaction is properly regenerated, it can create a dew point below -100 degrees Celsius.

3A Molecular Sieve should not be exposed to the open air and should be stored in dry conditions and in the correct airtight packaging..
