Adsorbents for Purification in PSA/VPSA Air Separation Units

Non-cryogenic air separation processes use physical property differences such as molecular size and mass, to produce oxygen at sufficient purity to meet the needs of oxygen users. The most common technologies are PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption), VPSA (Vacuum-Pressure Swing Adsorption), which are used to separate a single component from ordinary air to produce oxygen.

PSA and VPSA technology are used to produce oxygen by passing compressed air through a vessel containing adsorbent materials. In the process most of the desired molecule(O2) passes through the adsorbent bed, while molecular sieve adsorbent selectively removes water, CO2 and N2 from the feed air.

Petrotat provides the customer with the solutions to remove many contaminants and meet the high-purity requirements of air

Products & Solutions:

AA-220 activated alumina was used to remove water efficiently from feed gas at the inlet. The other impurities such as carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons and trace moisture are removed by 13X series molecular sieves.
